Laser hair removal
When confidence starts to feel low maintenance
An investment in comfort, convenience and confidence
For many clients, laser hair removal isn't simply about having less hair. It's about spending less time planning around it.
Whether you're tired of frequent shaving, irritation or ingrown hairs, or you're simply ready for a longer term approach, your treatment journey begins with understanding what you'd ultimately like to change.
Because sometimes the biggest difference is having one less thing to think about.
Why laser hair removal is a journey, not a single appointment.
One of the most common questions we hear is:
"Why do I need more than one treatment?"
The answer lies in how your hair naturally grows.
At any one time, individual hairs are at different stages of the growth cycle. Laser is most effective during the active growth phase, when the hair is still connected to the structures being targeted.
This means only a proportion of hairs are in the ideal stage for treatment at each appointment, which is why a course is needed to progressively target new hairs as they enter active growth.
Your appointments are spaced around this cycle, allowing each session to build on the progress of the last.
It's not about treating more often. It's about treating at the right time.
Behind every treatment plan is a different story
I'm tired of constantly shaving.
Remembering to shave before a holiday. Fitting it in before an early morning. Thinking about regrowth sooner than you'd like.
Over time, hair removal can become something you need to think about far less
I'm ready for a longer term approach.
If temporary methods have become a repetitive part of your routine, laser offers a more progressive approach to reducing hair growth over time.
Less repetition. Less maintenance. More freedom in your routine.
I'm tired of dealing with irritation.
For some clients, shaving means soreness, sensitivity, razor bumps or recurring ingrown hairs.
Reducing the need for frequent shaving can make comfort just as meaningful as hair reduction itself.
I don't know if laser is right for me.
You don't need to decide that before you arrive.
Your consultation is there to establish suitability, answer your questions and help you understand whether laser is the right option for you.
Behind every result is a journey
Every result begins with a reason.
From reducing irritation to spending less time thinking about hair removal, explore real client journeys and how their progress has developed throughout treatment.
Your experience at Seven Skin
Start with a conversation, not a commitment
You don't need to know whether laser hair removal is right for you before you arrange your consultation.
We'll discuss what you'd like to achieve, assess your suitability and talk you through the options available to you. If laser isn't the right approach, I'll tell you.
There is no commitment to begin treatment. The first step is simply finding out what's right for you.
Consultation and patch testing are required before laser treatment.

Your questions, answered.
-
Everyone experiences laser differently, but most clients describe the sensation as a brief warmth or quick snapping feeling as the laser is delivered.
Your comfort is considered throughout treatment, and settings are selected around your individual skin and hair characteristics rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.
A patch test is carried out before treatment begins, giving you an opportunity to experience the sensation beforehand.
-
Laser hair removal requires a course of treatments because individual hairs move through different stages of the growth cycle and can only be effectively targeted at certain stages.
The number of sessions required varies between individuals and can depend on the treatment area, hair characteristics, hormonal influences and how your hair responds throughout the course.
Your progress will be reviewed between appointments rather than assuming every client will need exactly the same number of sessions.
-
Laser hair removal is better described as long term hair reduction rather than permanent hair removal.
A successful course can significantly reduce the amount and thickness of hair growing within the treated area. Any remaining or returning hairs may also become finer and less noticeable.
Results vary between individuals, and occasional maintenance treatments may be beneficial over time.
-
Some clients begin noticing changes after their first few appointments, such as slower regrowth, areas where fewer hairs are returning or hair becoming finer.
Progress develops gradually as different hairs enter the appropriate stage of their growth cycle, which is why results are assessed across the course rather than after a single treatment.
-
Appointments are spaced according to the natural hair growth cycle and the area being treated.
Different areas of the face and body can have different growth patterns, so your treatment intervals will be planned accordingly and may change as your course progresses.
More frequent treatment doesn't necessarily mean faster results, timing each appointment appropriately is an important part of the process.
-
Laser hair removal can be used across many areas of the face and body, including the underarms, bikini area, legs, arms, back, chest and selected areas of the face.
You can discuss the areas you'd like to treat during your consultation, including combining multiple areas within the same treatment plan.
-
Yes. You'll usually be asked to shave the treatment area before your appointment so the laser can target the hair within the follicle without unnecessary hair sitting above the surface of the skin.
You'll receive preparation guidance before your treatment so you know exactly what to do and when.
-
No. Waxing, plucking and epilating remove the hair from the follicle, which means there may no longer be an appropriate target for the laser.
Shaving is generally the recommended method of managing regrowth between appointments because it removes the visible hair without pulling it from the follicle.
-
There are several things that can affect whether it is appropriate to treat, including recent sun exposure, tanning, certain medications and some skincare products.
You'll receive preparation guidance relevant to your treatment area, and any changes to your medication, health or recent sun exposure should be discussed before your appointment.
If you're ever unsure, contact Seven Skin before your appointment rather than making changes to prescribed medication yourself.
-
The treatment area should be free from fake tan before laser treatment, and recent sun exposure or tanning can affect whether it is safe and appropriate to proceed.
This is because laser treatment needs to account for the amount of pigment present within the skin as well as the hair being targeted.
You'll be given guidance around sun exposure and tanning as part of your treatment preparation.
-
Suitability depends on the relationship between the pigment within the hair and the skin, as well as the technology being used.
Hair containing sufficient pigment generally provides the laser with a better target, while very light blonde, white, grey or red hair may respond poorly or may not be suitable for laser hair reduction.
Skin tone is also considered when selecting appropriate treatment parameters. Your individual suitability will therefore be assessed during consultation and patch testing rather than assumed from appearance alone.
-
Your consultation allows me to understand what you'd like to achieve, review relevant medical history and assess your skin, hair and treatment area before deciding whether laser is appropriate for you.
Where suitable, a patch test allows your skin's response to the laser to be assessed before progressing to full treatment.
It's also your opportunity to ask questions, understand what treatment would involve and decide whether you'd like to continue.
Booking a consultation doesn't commit you to a course of treatment.
-
Some clients choose to have occasional maintenance sessions after completing their initial course.
Hair growth can change over time and can be influenced by factors such as hormones, age and individual biology, so some regrowth may occur even after a successful course.
If maintenance becomes beneficial, it can be planned around your individual regrowth rather than automatically scheduling treatment when it isn't needed.
-
For clients whose irritation or ingrown hairs are associated with frequent shaving or other hair-removal methods, reducing hair growth can also reduce how often those methods are needed.
Many clients therefore choose laser not only because they want less hair, but because they want to move away from the repeated cycle of shaving, regrowth and associated discomfort.
Individual skin concerns will still be assessed as part of your consultation.
